Brits Kill It At The Quebec Olympic Qualifier

Last Olympic qualifier puts Aimee Fuller and Dom Harrington on course for Sochi 2014

Scotty James, Aimee Fuller and Jamie Nicholls celebrating a successful weekend in Canada.

Amazing news! Over the weekend, Aimee Fuller, Dom Harrington and Jamie Nicholls all made it through to their respective finals at the last FIS event before the Olympics, which should be enough to put Aimee and Dom through to Sochi 2014; now only a couple of weeks away.

Aimee managed to pull out a fifth place finish which she’s rightly stoked with, and New Zealander Christy Prior topped the podium for the ladies slopestyle. Jamie placed sixth in the men’s, finishing just above Seppe Smits, we’d say not a bad place to be.

Local boy Maxence Parrot took the win with a killer run, but unfortunately fan-favourites Halldor Helgason and Ethan Morgan didn’t make the cut for the finals and so won’t be partying hard in Russia next month. Instead they celebrated by putting together possibly the ugliest edit imaginable; they will be sorely missed from the opening ceremony.

In the halfpipe, Dom Harrington finished 16th in the finals which should be enough to put him through to Sochi, and felow Brit Ben Kilner (who’s already qualified) came in with a strong 14th place. Japan continue their pipe domination with Ryo Aono winning the men’s and Rana Okada, Yuki Furihata and Hikaru Oe blocking out the women’s podium.

So that’s it! Brits done good and we’ll provide you with a full list of the team heading to Russia as soon as its official.
