US ripper Laura Hadar has been coming up fast recently, having just jumped ship from trendy niche brand Artec Snowboards to join the mighty Capita team. She’s also just signed a new two-year deal with her streetwear sponsor Nikita, who collared her for us and made her answer our 20 questions. Here’s what she had to say:

First things first, where are you from?
I am from Carbondale Colorado, about half hour outside of Aspen. But I live in Salt Lake City, Utah now.

Who or what first inspired you to start snowboarding?
I was skiing behind this snowboarder and just thought “that looks so much cooler than skiing” then once I kinda started I realized it was cooler.

Who or what inspires you to keep snowboarding now?
Myself a lot. Cause it’s my first love and it’s always been there for me. We’ve had some rough patches but we truly love each-other. Also Team Thunder homies. Izzy. Brighton Kids. Snowbird Runs. E Mess. Leblanc. . . Peep Show chicks.

What’s the best thing that’s ever happened to you on a snowboard?
I popped my cherry! psyche! Um I think when I won the Sessions contest I was pretty hyped. Also my first couple of video parts were really satisfying.

Who or what would you not be able to snowboard without?
I don’t know. Cause I mean. I could probably go for it depending on the conditions with just my street clothes and my setup. I don’t ride with music that much. And I get plenty of solo days in, ahhh. I guess some sort of eye protection. My eyes water like crazy without sunnies or goggles.

Describe a perfect day.
Wake up kinda early. Clean house real quick. Drive up to the bird and shred leftover pow spots with some random homies. OR go ride Brighton on a bluebird powder day. Eat some grub go home. Rally the troops and go out dancing or something.

What’s the most valuable thing you own?
The most expensive thing in my house was my bed. I think it ran me a couple of grand. I went all out though and got this organic cotton mattress. Other than that I have a 98 Subaru that used to be worth money. I’d be lucky if I got 3 g’s for it now though

What’s your worst habit?
Probably smoking.

Who’s your ideal man (or woman)?
Ideal? I mean we don’t even live in an ideal world… But that’s why I settle and right now I call him Pie. He’s pretty ideal.

Tell us a secret.
Sometimes. I scream just for fun in my house or car. It gets all my nerves out and I feel better, I usually start laughing at myself right after. then I scream some more.
