Many of the UK’s most talented riders will be heading for the Kennington Olympia next weekend, where the British Snow Tour Invitational Championships will take place.

The competition, organised by the same people who put on the Brits in Laax, invites 12 of the UK’s best snowboarders and a few skiers to strut their stuff on one of the biggest stages the UK scene has to offer – the Metro Ski and Snowboard Show.

With the show expected to attract a mind-boggling 45,000 people over the five days between October 21st and 25th, the crowds will be larger than any others on the British Snow Tour circuit. So you can expect the invited riders to be really stepping up their game and pulling out their biggest moves as they try and impress the pants off the members of the opposite sex in the crowd.

The comp will take place on the evening of Friday October 23rd, and the list of riders attending is as follows.

Snowboarders Freeskiers
Sam Cullum – Bracknell Paddy Graham – Sheffield
Jamie Nicholls – Bradford James Woods – Sheffield
Andy Nudds – Halifax Murray Buchan – Edinburgh
Sparrow Knox – London James Webb – Bracknell
Jack Shackleton – Newbury Josh Birch – London

Matt MacWhirter – Halifax Tyler Jay-Harding – Halifax
Samantha Rogers – Reading Joe Hides – Sheffield

Wayne Taylor – Halifax James Machon – Sheffield

The snowboarders will be hitting the kicker from 4 pm onwards, while the skiers will be riding from 7 in the evening. Oh, and last but certainly not least, there’ll be a big old party at the end of the event – organised by SCUK and Westbeach – at which all and sundry will be taking advantage of the chance to sink a few Austrian lagers before the season starts.

All in all, the show is going be an awesome occasion. The Whitelines crew will all be down there, manning our stand and showing off our shiny new T-Shirts, so come find us and say hi. And if you’re feeling too cheap to the entrance price, you can always have a go at winning tickets here
