Returning to major halfpipe competition with a vengeance, Torah absolutely bossed it. OK so she’d done the occasional X Games, but this was the first time we’d really seen Torah pull out all the stops, and she managed to beat not only the rest of the field, but also the previously dominant Kelly Clark, comfortably.
Her mix of spins (including cab variations) and inverts means her runs are always a pleasure to watch, and it’s nice to see them scoring highly too. What’ll happen if both her and Kelly put down clean runs in Sochi? Well, we’ll have to see, but on the strength of this, we’d say the pipe is Torah’s to lose.
