K-Jam returns to Kendal

The annual celebration of the Lake District’s snowboard scene that is the K-Jam is returning to the slopes of the Kendal Ski Club later this month. The competition, which takes place on May 30th, will include a big air, a rail jam, and an airbag session – all accompanied by the sounds of on-slope DJ Single Point.

Tom Lenartowicz, who’s involved in organising the whole shebang, told us: “There’ll be great prizes from our rad K-Jam sponsors awarded to riders for best tricks, efforts and more. This year’s slope features consist of: the kickers, the quarter/spine/bowl, the new 6-metre box, the 3-metre box, the new up-rail, the C-box and of course the airbag.  Or even the moguls if that’s what you’re into.

What’s more, this year we now welcome freestyle skiers to join in, with only the rail jams exclusive to snowboarders.  You don’t need to be a member to enter and anyone of any age is welcome… it’s about having fun!

Competition entry will cost a measly £10 for an AllDay pass.  That’s up to 7 hours of slope time from 11am to 6pm!  Hourly sessions on the Big AirBag will cost a bargain price of an additional £10.  Spectators are free to come along and check out the action, so bring your mums!

There’ll be a food/drink stall for anyone in need of an energy boost, and just a damn good time for all to have at one of the North’s best dryslope comps.

K-Jam would not be possible without the support from our sponsors and prize-givers: Whitelines Magazine, Thrilly, Method Magazine, Snowboard Club UK, Fear of the Park, Westbeach, Fat Face, Park, Freeride Snowboards and ShootFirst Productions.”

If a day of shredding, sliding and making merry over the Bank Holiday weekend sounds like your bag, then head over to kjam.thrilly.com for more info about this awesome comp.
