Goodbye summer – welcome winter is this years motto again, when the beginning of the season get’s celebrated with a snowboard contest, concerts, parties and of course lots of side eventes from 16-18 October 2009!

Last years contest mode was a big success, so some amateurs do get the chance again to battle against the pro’s. Every person registered for the mini shred amateur contest on Sunday is able to take part at the lottery for the „Lucky One’s“ who can take part at the pro contest on Saturday. This BIG PARK mini shred contest on Saturday, October 17th is taking place again on 2 lines: the obstacles in the snow park and the kicker line. 7.000 US $ prize money are prepared for the winners! The year 2009 will see the premier of a new side event – the KTO Railsession – hosted by Downdays and Mog Productions. It will take place on Friday, October 16th and offers a special opportunity for all rail specialists, to show their skills on the rail. After the contest the rail will stay at the car park for everybody to jib. Registration, Fr. 09.00 – 11.00 at the car park on the glacier

A highly motivated project of photographer Daniel Zangerl and snowboarder Daniel Driessler is going to be presented for the first time at the Kaunertal Opening 2009! EYE5’s aim is to combine sports photography and contemporary art. Different artists have been working or are still working on 5 snowboard shots. They either worked directly with the photography or got inspired by the shot to an independent piece of art. More details on: outlawzz.com/eye5

Besides there will be a movie corner in the restaurant for the first time, where different snowboard movies are being presented the whole day.

Movie presentations, DJ’s and bands are in the center of attention on Friday and Saturday night of course. We are looking very much forward to the cheeky performance of the electro-punk performance of GROSSSTADTGEFLÜSTER straight out of Berlin and the party vibes of JAMARAM, I-SHINE plus one more act! The DISCODOGS DJ team from Cologne will rock the parties on both evenings afterwards. Additionally we present the hottest film material of Pirate Movie Production, Absinthe Films, Headbud & Brokenradiofilms and Matchstick Productions/USA!
