Jamie Anderson Nude Photoshoot for ESPN

The internet can barely contain its excitement. Photo: ESPN

Well, it’s that time of the year again, the ESPN Body Issue photos are starting to get leaked and action sports online media eats itself in excitement. Cooler have already have massive online ratings from their report of Coco Ho surfing naked (‘Everywhere got sunburnt’) and most dedicated snowboard sites are still cooling off after Elena Hight’s nude BBQ sensation last year. It has to be said, we preferred her webisodes this year to the ‘sizzling’ pictures.

Paralympic snowboard medalist Amy Purdy also stripped off for the issue. Photo: ESPN

Even Elena wasn’t the first snowboarder to strip off for a mag – Gretchen Bleiler and Louie Vito both stripped off for ESPN in 2011 (though bizarrely no one seems to remember Louie in the buff) and anyone that follows Illicit Snowboarding will know by now that it’s almost a mandatory second career for slalom snowboarders.

Now Jamie Anderson and Paralympic snowboard medalist Amy Purdy will be joining the hallowed list, we’re not sure if you can buy ESPN Magazine in the UK but if you want to see any more snaps that’s where you’ll find them.

Anyway, let’s not distract from the (body) issue at hand, here’s what Jamie had to say about the nude shoot herself:

I got to step back and embrace myself and how I am and not try to fit this Hollywood image of being really super skinny.

“I’ve never done any naked shoots or even bikini shoots so it was new for me to do that,” Anderson said. “At first I was a little bit terrified but it was really good practice for me to accept everything about myself and love my body and not judge the little things that we do as women or anyone and just embrace where I’m at. With hurting my foot a month before the May shoot, I didn’t really get to run or anything.

My first impression was that I want to work out and get super crazy fit. It didn’t really play out that way. I still live a healthy, active lifestyle but I wasn’t able to train as I would have. It became even more beneficial because I got to step back and embrace myself and how I am and not try to fit this Hollywood image of being really super skinny.”

Only vaguely related, but too good not to share. McLuvin’ with another ESPN nudist, his pro-surfer girlfriend Coco Ho. ‘Gangstas what’s up?’
