It’s rare that you see Bob Gnarley stick his head above the parapet during the summer months – like the opposite of a marmot or like a brown bear with Alzheimer’s, he prefers to do his hibernating as far away from winter as possible.

Yet some things are just so earth-shatteringly ridiculous they can cause large enough ripple in the shred-time continuum to shake Mr G from his summertime slumber. Case it point being the Vessyl digital cup – featured as our Friday Find last week. A beaker that tells you what you’re pouring in to it only seconds after you finish pouring.

This Darwinian (awards) level of awful design somehow reached Bob through Friendster (he’s not quite sure that MySpace thing is going to catch on yet) and never one to miss an opportunity to introduce an new level of tech into the over-saturated marketplace of action sports, he spent the whole weekend coming up with the shred equivalent.

Ladies and gentlemen, we present to you: Buard.
