This just in from Sam Longmire…
Just been up for a couple of days riding at the Lecht, thought I’d send on
some pics. Great snow, if a little thin in places, blue skies and not
a breath of wind… nearly twenty riders from all over Scotland headed
up after nick had spread the word about a booter he managed to scrape
together after only two days of decent snow. It turned out to be the
first scottish session to go down since the ‘Gorm in April/May.
After a bit of run-in adjustment (well, piling up at least ten foot of
snow for a drop in – which we reckoned makes the Lecht a munroe) the
session was on. Front 3’s, 5’s, back ones, fives, cab 3’s, ‘5’s and an
attempted 7 (but not really enough speed). Not too bad for the first day
back – on a typical Lecht kicker.
Riders in attendance were Steve Cassy, Nick Mcintosh, Andrew Goodenough,
Stewart ‘Monkey’ Horsham, Duncan Ross, Frazer Rennie, Ben Kinnear and
lots more. Highlights? Ben Kinear’s back 5s (smooth as you like),
Monkey’s back seven nose and every other trick he tried.
