In case you hadn’t heard already, Burton snowboards hooked up with the car brand mini this season, roping them in to sponsor the Burton Global Open Series events. As part of the hook-up, mini stumped up the cash for the inaugural ‘‘Creative Use of Space Award’ which rewards riders for getting a little bit crazy with their runs in the slopestyle and halfpipe comps, and for trying something out of the ordinary. So far, people have been invited to vote for what they think are the most creative runs from the European Open, the Canadian Open and the US Open. From this afternoon, voting will begin for the overall champion. Once the voting closes on April 10th, one male and one female rider will walk away $25,000 richer.
So why should you care, you may well be asking? Well, Burton are entering everyone who votes into a competition to win a trip to the Burton New Zealand Open next year. Which means you good be heading to Cardrona Peak in Kiwistan for a week’s shredding, with VIP treatment and all the bells and whistles on – all courtesy of the Big B. Oh, and the prize is for four people, so the winner will be able to take three of their mates along too. Not bad eh? Get involved and get voting at the mini facebook page here.
