The Bataleon Disaster has long served as the brand’s premier jib stick. As such it’s often found under the feet of a couple of our favourite urban menaces, Jaeger Bailey and Gulli Gudmundsson. It’s also the answer you can give to anyone who says that a camber board isn’t much use in the streets.

Even without the presence of a rocker bend, this thing is definitely up for presses; not only is it the softest board in Bataleon’s range, it also boasts the variant of the company’s Triple Base Technology best suited to staying stable over the nose and tail.

The ‘Jib 3BT’ has a wider centre section, and the rise of the side sections begins closer to the middle of the board. You’re not immediately going to get great grip on a carve with this, as the contact points will be less easily engaged, but it also means you’ll get away with a whole lot more when hitting features and buttering on piste.

To really make the most of it, though, take it to stuff that will test its tough extruded base. Leave the chairlifts behind and go looking for handrails, ledges and even snow-covered skateparks. Disaster on a Disaster, anyone?
