British rider Claire Frost has ended her impressive season in style with a podium at the 3 star “Oakley Girlsessions” in the Finnish resort of Ruka.
Claire (left) who’s been all over the place this winter – from Morzine to Mayrhofen to Tahoe – was up against some of the world’s best female snowboarders, including newly crowned TTR Champ Enni Rukajärvi. On a slushy spring course she showed no sign of nerves to throw down a backside 360 and a frontside 720 over the big kickers, which landed her third place and a share of the $10,000 prize purse, while local girl and clear favourite Enni claimed top spot.
“It was a fun course,” Claire said afterwards. “The jumps were well shaped and it had a good flow. In one run you can do a bit of everything, with a fast lift to get up. I would say its one of the best parks I’ve ridden in Europe.”
Big congrats from all of us at Whitelines – here’s hoping Claire can follow in Jenny Jones’ footsteps in the coming years. If you’d like to see a video of her destroying the Morzine park click here, or to check out Claire’s tips on stomping backside 540s watch this video.
