You can either download your own template from the proposed open-source community of fellow YES shapers or go wild with your own design
The powder loving geniuses at YES Snowboards have come up with a simple yet innovative way for you to get the pow board of your dreams: The Clark.
Essentially a blend of the Corey Smith/Spring Break DIY movement combined with the Lobster Nose Job, The Clark is a 156cm long rectangle of fibreglass and laminates (priced at £245) that is pressed into the same PowRock profile as the YES 420, one of the WL staff’s unanimously favourite snowboards of all time.
After purchasing the ‘blank canvas’, you can either download your own template from the proposed open-source community of fellow YES shapers or go wild with your own design. Print it out or draw directly on to the top sheet before cutting your preferred shape out and sanding down the edges and thoroughly waterproofing them.
The concept is based on and named after Clark surfboards, who supplied the foam to both individual board shapers and major brands alike – a tribute to the surfers of old who allowed their community’s creativity to blossom and an extension to YES’ multi-disciplined riders like DCP.
Don’t come back and try and sue us because you’re an idiot. We made this product for people that can think for themselves and be responsible for themselves.
We’re itching to get our hands on one to try out when they’re released in January, but our favourite part of the whole concept has to be their no-nonsense instructions, including gems like: “Don’t come back and try and sue us because you’re an idiot. We made this product for people that can think for themselves and be responsible for themselves” – a sentiment we sometimes feel should be attached permanently to every internet browser.
