I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that I used to ski before I started snowboarding. As a kid it was easier to learn and both my parents did it. I didn’t know any better – until I discovered skateboarding. However, despite considering ditching the hard boots and poles for a while, it still took me the best part of 5 years to actually do it. The main reason why? – I didn’t want to pay to learn to snowboard when I could already ski. Eventually, I was so curious that I borrowed a board, taught myself and have never looked back. The moral of the story? If you’re thinking about giving snowboarding a go and you get the opportunity to try it for free – take it. No harm in trying right?
Next season, rudechalets are fighting the good fight and giving their skier guests that very opportunity. If you ski and are out for w/c 20th Jan or w/c 24th March you can sign up for a 2 hour lesson on a 2013 Burton board – all for absolutely zilch. Don’t hang around though because this is only for a maximum of 6 people per week and is on a first-come, first-served basis. To sign up email Rebecca: [email protected].
Skiing vs. snowboarding. It’s that age-old debate and while many of us know which side we’re on, others are painfully perched on the fence. So go on, spread the word and help a buddy or two realise what they’re missing ;) You’ll feel better for it.
