In this fourth episode of the star studded, ‘Brothers on the Run‘ web series, John and Eric Jackson, Travis Rice and Ian Walsh reach the end of the road on their Alaskan journey. Literally. Homer, Alaska is the finishing point of the most westerly highway (Highway 1) in the Northern hemisphere. No road’s going to stop these guy’s though, oh no. As Travis puts it in his best ‘gruff captain’s’ voice:
Ha-ha, end of the road my ass! WE’LL JUST TAKE A BOAT!
From there on it’s all about the icy cold Alaskan surf. While in the last episode it was the Jackson bro’s and T-Rice who were firmly in their element, this time it’s big wave surfer Ian Walsh’s turn to show the other’s how he earned his Red Bull cap. The conditions start off small but develop into a pretty decent swell (‘perfect peelers’ as Ian lovingly puts it) which get the whole crew sufficiently stoked.
To wrap off their time in Western Alaska the guys finish up at one of the most extreme slush cups we’ve ever seen, featuring not one, but TWO pools separated by a 5 foot drop! And all in fancy dress of course…those Alaskan’s definitely know how to do it good and proper.
As always we’re left with a drool-inducing snippet from the next episode which will see the guys back on the snow, teaming up with Pat Moore and casually chucking doubles in the Alaskan backcountry. Standard.
