Nonstop Snowboard have announced that they are launching a new instructor course in collaboration with Fernie Alpine Resort Winter Sports School that guarantees graduates a job afterwards. Participants will be trained and qualified under Nonstop’s 3 week instructor course, before being enrolled straight into Fernie’s snow school as a fully paid instructor.
In a time of economic strife and rising unemployment, this could offer a sweet opportunity for career confused shredders, and Fernie’s reputation as an awesome resort precedes it. Successful applicants for the program will not need any instructor qualifications before it starts but they will need to be of a good enough standard to achieve CASI Level 1 within 3 weeks of Nonstop training.
Nonstop have been running instructor training courses in Fernie for the last ten years but next winter will be the first time they offer a course with a direct route into employment. Wendy LeMoine, Director of Snow School, Fernie Alpine Resort, said: “We’re really pleased to secure so many Nonstop qualified instructors for the coming season. It’s great to be giving enthusiastic skiers and snowboarders such a direct route into paid instructor jobs.”
