Spark R&D have been operating out of Bozeman, MT since 2006 and were created when Will (owner, founder and designer) had his first blast on a splitboard and thought how much better the whole experience would be if there was a binding made specifically for splitting. Since their initial conception Spark have launched a complete revolution in the backcountry community, they’ve constantly been innovating to improve their products, and as such other companies have had to make leaps to catch up.
Avid splitboarders themselves, the Spark posse are constantly testing their products and pouring that feedback into new designs. Spark pride themselves on their high-quality products, and so decided that they wanted to manufacture the entire product line in-house so they could have total control. In-house production allows them to have really tight quality control over their whole line, and also gives them the opportunity to fire out prototypes super quick. On top of that, they’ve got some of the best names in the game representing their bindings, such as Robin van Gyn, Antti Autti, Elena Hight, and Griffin Siebert.
Spark have led the charge on creating products that improve the overall experience of split boarding, and they haven’t hit the ceiling yet. We’re stoked to see how far they can take it.
