Building on last year’s success, Oakley is back with their Stale Sandbech collection developed together with the wonderchild himself. The 28-year-old Norwegian is taking the world by storm and becoming one of the most recognised snowboarders of our time, so it seems only fair that Oakley’s giving him a platform outside the slopes to express himself.

For this year’s updated collection, Oakley’s yet again made sure that the Stale collection meets all of Stale’s needs for style and function. Based on a similar style we saw last season, Oakley’s upgraded the collection for this season, including the TC Gunn Shell 2L Jacket and Evocative RC Shell Pants.

Who Are The Oakley Stale Sandbech Tc Gunn Shell 2L Jacket and Evocative RC Shell Pant For?

With pieces designed to transition from on-mountain to off-mountain, the TC Gunn Shell 2L Jacket and Evocative RC Shell Pants live up to high technical standards whilst reppin a cool street style look.

Perfect for a casual sideways slide in the resort, an occasional powder splash and laps through the park, this outfit is for the guys who demand the best in tech, style, and comfort – just like Stale himself.

Materials and Construction

Oakley’s taken a step forward in the sustainability game and for FW 21/22, with 40% of their outerwear including sustainable materials (including the Stale Sandbech TC Gunn Shell 2L Jacket and Evocative RC Shell Pants).

Made from 100% recycled polyester, both the jacket and the pants include Oakley’s own FN Dry 10K technology: a waterproof material designed to let both heat and sweat evaporate, leaving you dry and comfortable. The technology gives the outerwear a protective barrier against the harshest of elements, allowing the rider to stay focused on the mountain.

The 10K waterproof rating is perfect for resort use and the occasional backcountry adventure. 10K stands for 10,000mm, which refers to the depth of water required to penetrate the fabric (based on filling a one-inch diameter tube). As a rule of thumb, anything above 5K is sufficient enough for a good snowboard jacket.

Adding to the outerwear’s waterproofing is the Hydrofree Durable Water Repellent coating. DWR prevents the outer fabric from picking up water on its surface to avoid a clammy cold feeling that comes with a wet fabric.

Fit and Features

For maximized performance, the Gunn Shell jacket and the Evocative pants have been designed with a slightly slimmer fit. With an upgrade from last year, the pants have been given a slightly baggier style while still being slim enough to move with the body.

Featuring a new hood adjustment system, the Gunn Shell jacket is also packed with loads of pockets. Because to be honest, who wouldn’t love a bunch of pockets? There’s one on the left chest with a waterproof zipper, a few front pockets and an inner goggle pocket. The jacket even features an RFID pocket to protect anyone from skimming your card!

As for the pants, the buttoned waistband with belt loops will help to keep them at the height they should be while the articulated knees make for a more ergonomic fit.
