Matt Cummins is one of the OG’s of the Mervin crew, and his legendary status has gained him not one, but multiple pro model snowboards. The Lib Tech MC Snake Kink is one such deck, a freeride focused shred stick that’s happy bombing around on piste, dipping into the trees, and throwing out some smooth, surf style slashes. Being kinky ain’t a crime.
Mervin’s C3 profile technically does have some midbody rocker, but it’s so subtle that this board essentially rides like a traditional camber. This is a powerful and aggressive board, the edges engage right at the contact point and offer continuous pressure through the turns. With Lib’s Magne-Traction edges, and a stiff tail backing up the camber dominant board, you’re all set to rail through the whole arc of your turn without fear of slipping out.

A big name in the BMX scene, Damian Fulton is coming in HOT with the Radical Rick graphics, and while they might be eye-catching enough, you’ll almost certainly stand out in lift lines with the kinked nose as well. It’s touted to aid with float when you’re off the beaten track and to sail across chop and chunder. The two-inch setback helps to keep the weight focused over the tail, further lifting the nose and allowing the board to be driven from the back leg and slashed through choppy turns.
It’s not the lightest board on the market, but the Aspen & Paulownia core have a solid strength to weight ratio, with a comforting amount of underfoot feel. As with all Lib offerings, the MC Snake Kink is manufactured using recycled materials, water based inks and using greener power sources.

It’s fair to say Matt Cummins is a pioneer in the snowboard industry, he championed the twin tip movement and has the longest running pro model on record. Whether you want to ride this, hang it on your wall, or carry it around as a fleeting memory of ‘the good old days’ the MC Snake Kink is a worthy partner in crime.
