Jeremy Jones is no stranger to the NOW family. He previously put his name to the Drive bindings and, last year incorporated their unique ‘Skate-Tech’ into the Jones line with two new models. The Mercury is their most versatile, all-mountain, binding.
There’s no shortage of ways to tune them into your own riding style. The FlipIt ankle straps, allow for two riding modes and response rates in one. Freeride – for sharper response rates and more efficient power transmission, or Surf – to free up your ankle flex and get a little more tweak through your turns.

You can dial in the performance further with the interchangeable contact bushings to either up the response rate or add a little more dampening and smoothness to the ride.
The Flex Hinge highback features a small channel running across the top which, Jones say, takes out some of the chatter when riding at higher speeds and eliminates any calf bite. That asymmetric design increases contact on the medial side and adds lateral support. A highback that follows the angle of your leg – hardly groundbreaking but, surprisingly, still quite uncommon.
It’s a binding designed to help you push every aspect of your riding and comes backed up with a lifetime warranty, so they’ll hold up when you’re charging on the limit, even if your nerves don’t. For the more demanding free-riders out there, the Apollo is the stiffer, less compromising model up.
