Head have done away with the NX Five this year and brought a different beast to the market altogether. The NX Six is their most versatile, performance-focused binding.
The biggest talking point is the all-new Flexmaster 3000. We’re thinking they maybe let the intern choose the new name, but the concept itself is pretty interesting.
The highback flex can be adjusted, tool-free, by simply moving the position of the slider. When located at the top it gives you a stiffer flex, best suited for maximum power transmission to burn up the groomers. Slide it all the way down, and you’ll experience a much looser, surfy feel. Or simply find your happy medium somewhere in the middle. For rider’s who take on a bit of everything in a day and want to get the most out of their setup, it’s a pretty effective solution.

Wherever you strap in, the Auto-Open system makes the Six look like an old friend welcoming you with open arms. It allows both the toe and ankle straps to fully hinge open and move completely clear of the baseplate. Less clutter means faster strap-ins which, of course, means first dibs on dropping your line.
Head have also managed balance comfort and response with their dual-density ‘Dampliflex’. The two foams work in harmony to reduce vibrations underfoot and allow for a more natural flex of the board, whilst still keeping power transmission nice and sharp. In short, you’ll ride with increased feel and better accuracy for way longer.
