Recently back on our radar after a few years in the wilderness, Drop MFG has completely overhauled how it does business. The new direct-to-consumer sales model means has kept prices right down, to the point where the Drop Traffic snowboard goggles are easily the most affordable magnet-enhanced options on the market.
Thanks to an array of magnets placed all around the frame, the lens in the Drop Traffic goggles can be switched in almost no time, and with zero hassle. Using a protruding tab in the bottom right, you can pull to release the lens before simply placing the new one onto the frame. With a satisfying click, it connects and is good to go.

Drop may not have joined the high-definition lens ‘arms race’, but the ones it does make are still pretty good. Each pair comes with a low-light and sunny-day lens as standard. Your spare packs away nicely in the supplied sleeve, and the mini-frame around each lens makes it feel less vulnerable when tucked away in your jacket pocket, or in your bag.
Elsewhere the Drop Traffic adopts a ‘no frills’ approach, with standard two-layer foam and silicone-backed strap. It’s available in three colour variations of a fairly vanilla design, and the lenses are the same for each version. Simplicity itself, then; and in no way is that a bad thing.
