Despite their all-mountain credentials, flat-based boards aren’t for everyone. However, if you are partial to a zero-camber design, then no-one has nailed it quite like Rome. A relatively new true twin, the Rome Kashmir women’s snowboard is just one example of how the future could be flat.
Despite the pointy ends and the name, the Rome Kashmir isn’t aimed at the big-mountain rider. It can handle powder, of course, and the shape does make sinking the tail a bit easier, but it’s as far from a specialist freeride weapon as you can get.
“The easy-going biax fibreglass has been given a carbon-enhanced boost, making it lively and responsive”

The Kashmir leans more heavily towards freestyle snowboarding. The base is a specially strengthened version of extruded, allowing it to brush off heavy rail sessions. Flat boards are great for hitting park features, as the lack of contact points means you’re less likely to have a nasty hang-up.
