If you’ve had a flick through our 2017/18 Buyer’s Guide (and if you haven’t, what’s wrong with you?) you’ll have probably seen a few graphics jump out at you. One in particular that grabbed us was the bright and bold image emblazoned on the Rome Mountain Division, so it was a complete stoker to have this video land in our laps this morning.
It shows the painstaking process Brooklyn-based artist Dylan Goldberger (responsible for plenty of skate graphics for the likes of Deathwish) as he sketches then carves each design out of wood, adding layers of texture and analogue imperfections before using the completed woodcut to print the culmination of his efforts.
Almost every rider has dreamed of designing their own board – it’s sick to see one graphic come to life this way.
