UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2018/2019 Rome Mini Shred here
With a comprehensive size range that reaches right down to 90cm, the Rome Mini Shred is a strong option for any age of micro-grom. As an added bonus, it also rips the whole mountain really well too.
“That means a stable base when you’re riding straight, but easy initiation when you’re linking those first turns”
The profile on the Rome Mini Shred is pretty techy compared to most kids’ steeds. Designed specifically to make life easier for those still learning, it features a flat area in the middle of the board that extends out towards the nose and tail in a rough ‘diamond’ shape. Then the rest of the base is slightly raised up as you move out towards the edge.
That means a stable base when you’re riding straight, but easy initiation (and a bit of margin for error) when you’re linking those first turns. Also, thanks to the pointy sections of the flat part, you get more pop than you’d think, and you’re highly unlikely to catch on a box or rail either. So while the system is made for learners, it’ll come in pretty handy on those first days in the park too.
Combine it with the matching Rome Mini Shred kids’ binding and boot, and the Rome Mini Shred will get any young grom up to speed in next to no time.
