Swiss board-builders WEST have been steadily refining this, the WEST La Hache, for the last five years. According to the guys themselves, it’s never been closer to all-mountain perfection.

All the vital stats check out – the WEST La Hache has a stiffer-than-average flex without being too rigid, and it’s got a directional twin shape with a slight setback. The profile has a camber bend that switches to rocker as you looks past each foot towards the tips. So far, so good; if you need something to do it all, that’s the kind of stuff you should be looking for.
As for the construction, it still has the carbon stringers (introduced last year) running from end to end to increase pop, as well as strips of beech under the inserts that toughen it up. The rest of the core is reliable, lightweight poplar, and the wooden topsheet both looks good and smooths out the ride.
