UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2018/2019 Bent Metal Transfer here
In an ever more complex world of snowboard bindings, may the gods bless Bent Metal for keeping it simple. The three models in the men’s range can be boiled down to ‘soft, medium, stiff’. The Bent Metal Transfer is the one in the middle, making it the best bet for the all-mountain rider.
The Drive Plate that sits under your foot plays a big part in the Bent Metal Transfer’s characteristics, and can be swapped for a softer or stiffer one if that’s what you fancy. If you stick with the medium-flexing version, the magnesium fibres give you enough response to blast around the mountain, but not so much that you need to give it your full concentration at all times.

The highback is supportive and just a little asymmetrical, ensuring you’re always comfy in the Bent Metal Transfer. The straps are pared-back yet do their job admirably, and the buckles are fast and easy to use.
The one seen here is the pro model of street-rail slayer Forest Bailey, who also broke out his paintbrushes to design the overall look. Like last year there’s also a Jamie Lynn version available, as well as a flame-red design that’s bound to turn a few heads.
