Yesterday evening GoPro announced they will be recalling all Karma drones with immediate effect, offering a complete refund and no replacement. It’s apparently due to a technical hitch that causes the drone to lose power in flight, although there have been no reports of accidents or injury involving GoPro drones.
Even if your drone appears to be fully functional they are asking “all customers to immediately stop using the product and participate in the recall.”
This also includes any accessories bought in a bundle with a Karma drone, encompassing any Karma grips and GoPro HERO5 Blacks purchased.
After already having to fight off competition from DJI’s new budget and travel-friendly drone, the Mavic Pro, it’s another setback for GoPro as they try to regain falling ground in the action camera marketplace.
