It’s nice to see a story about co-operation between nations hitting our news feed for once, and this one’s a doozy: anyone who buys a season pass to one of the five ski resorts in Scotland will automatically be entitled to free snowboarding in Iceland, and vice versa.
It’s part of a wider deal between the two countries’ tourism boards (a bond presumably strengthened by this international incident), and something that we expect plenty of folk to take advantage of. Flights from the three major Scottish airports to Rekjavik are regular and affordable, creating no shortage opportunities to hit up any of Iceland’s nine resorts.
Most of the Scottish mountains have early-bird deals going on right now, and those just became even better value. Visit Cairngorm, Glencoe, Glenshee, the Lecht or Nevis Range to get your pass.
