Adidas – Nomad – En Route

“Being a professional snowboarder is like being an explorer. Nothing is set in stone, and you’re always on the move. The snow might be good one day, and terrible the next. You’re always out there searching for the next new spot, the next snowstorm, and the next trick. “

After the blistering first instalment – Japan – we’ve been waiting on tenterhooks for this one: the second part of their new online series: Nomad.

At least that’s what Adidas have to say about this, the second part of their new online series: Nomad.

After the blistering first instalment – Japan – we’ve been waiting on tenterhooks for this one. Whilst it’s not quite the same all-out shred fest, it focuses on the travel side of the business alongside the riding, the vox pops are kept a minimum and snowboarding still takes centre stage.

It focuses on three of the team riders: Louif Paradis in Salt Lake City, Kazu Kokubo at Mt Hood and Eric Jackson in Whistler, though Jake Blauvelt and Forest Bailey both get a look in along the way.

From street through pipe and all the way to the BC backcountry, this is fast becoming the deepest and most interesting team going, especially with the recent announcement that Nike are moving out of snowboarding.

The highlights have to be Louif’s boardslide pop over at 3.30 (so much grace for a metal head), Kazu’s crazy layback pipe slash at 4.40 and possibly the most insane save we’ve ever seen at 5.30: Jackson knuckling a backside corked 720, throwing a back 3 to try and stay upright before buttering out.

It’s talent, it’s raw, but don’t take our word for it, just watch.
