Fivers For Trannys…Again

Last year we saw the inaugural Fivers 4 Trannys contest in Leeds transform Castleford Snozone, and this year the superbly chaotic format returned to strike again. Jon RussellIan AshmoreTom Guilmard and Will Smith revived and improved their bowl style course in July and with £1000 in fivers as well as snacks, beer and soft porn as rewards/consolation, round two was ready to begin.

Now a Gonzilla.tv regular, Sophie Nicholls presents the formalities slopeside with Signal’s Jake Olson-Elm, and, sticking with the theme set by Steak in the first event, stoner rock band Bong Cauldron accompany some of the UK’s finest for what is surely one of the best spectacles in the UK’s snowboarding calendar. Course expansion has allowed new features such as ‘the wallride of mild peril’ and a 360 degree eurocarve ditch (which we would have liked to see more of).

It can be a little difficult to tell what was planned and what was just good improvisation on a course like this, whether Will Smith meant to stall before the gas pipe at 1.59 or not for example, we’ll leave down to interpretation… There’s a little less doubt that about Marc McClement‘s intentions when he tries to repeat his 1080 from Go Big or Go Home in Bearsden, but after his practice in the House of A Thousand Trannies, it’s not such a surprise to see Angus Leith had the stones to claim the title from Jamie Nicholls.

Anyhow Das Goose – Tranny Finder General has a nice ring to it…
