‘Pepping!’ New snowboard movie masterpiece from the Helgasons

After a failed attempt at releasing the movie this Friday (Johannes computer had a sissy fit while the movie was rendering apparently), the Helgasons have finally dropped the long awaited follow up to their seminal 2011 flick and snowboard movie debut, ‘Sexual Snowboarding.’

We had been wondering what Pepping! meant and after pondering over a wealth of possible sexual references on Urban Dictionary (remember that these guys are partially responsible for this particularly chunderful full length), a press release from the brothers gave us this mildly disappointing explanation: ‘it’s just a Scandinavian word combo off being pumped, little bit horny and stoked at the same time.’ It may be a tad bland (by Helgason standards anyway) but the movie itself is far from it.

After a brief intro from coach thunder and one of the most entertaining sponsor reels that we’ve seen in a while (seriously, that shit’s genius), it’s straight to the riding with an absolute blinder of a part from Halldor, Eiki and Gulli, predominately shot in Iceland and complete with ‘heli’ shots, a rad cannonball 50-50 from Eiki at the 2 minute mark and a double cork in the streets from Halldor at 2:53.

You may remember the Helgasons putting out another request for your footage a little while ago. Yes, the open part is back and it’s as entertaining as ever, with a mix of bangers, some gnarly slams and a whole bunch of other stuff. Great to see a couple of Brits make an appearance as well – Scottish Will Smith’s back 10 double at 9:23 and Charlie Rowland’s mental bomb drop on a tray at 10:42 both made the cut.

Other riders to make appearances include Kareem El Rafie, Leo Crawford, Ethan MorganTor Lundström, Risto Roukola, Toni Kerkelä, Eero Ettala and Fredu Sirviö.

Does this live up to Sexual Snowboarding? We certainly think it does. It’s got that classic Helgasons humour and quirkiness, from the weird intro right through to the trick selection and the riding itself is top drawer stuff as well. Don’t waste any more time though and get this thing watched. It’s a stark reminder that the Helgasons have still very much got what it takes to be two of the biggest names in snowboarding right now.
