You’ve really gotta hand it to him – JP Walker is a modern day snowboarding legend. Sure, he may not have the technicality of today’s flourishing breed of jib monkeys coming out of Trollhaugen, Yawgoo Valley and the like, but at 36 years of age, he’s still more than capable of filming a legit part with some heavy tricks in it.
How many 36 year olds do you know who have the athleticism and balls to take all of those slams at the start of this part, almost get attacked by a monkey and then cab 270 onto a 40-stair handrail? Yep, that nickname of his (‘The Don’ if any of you forgot) is fully deserving in our eyes.
This part represents a season worth of shooting alongside fellow Jibberish stalwart Simon Chamberlain (who will drop his full part in a week’s time). Oh, and turns out that JP is down with technology too – this part was edited by the man himself!
Lookout for the rad redirect in the backcountry at the end, a massive wallride and a huuge gap to front lip and then go and watch his classic part in Technical Difficulties (which came out 14 freakin’ years ago!) .
