If last month’s incredible glass snowboard wasn’t enough, Dave Lee and the Signal gang are back with another world first in their Every Third Thursday series with the first ever 3d printed snowboard.
Now try as we might, we couldn’t quite get our heads around this ‘Plastic Laser Sintering’ technology – it kind of seems like laser etching in reverse. We think. Pretty mindblowing stuff though eh?
The resulting coffin-shaped, jigsaw of a snowboard is flimsy but a few metal rods later and it’s out kicking up powder in the Colorado backcountry. Not bad for something that has essentially been printed from a carbon mixture huh?
