In case you missed this, freeride snowboarding legend, James Stentiford has joined forces with Val Heliski, a pioneering European heliski company, to offer boarding enthusiasts the chance to cut the finest lines in the Backcountry with two unique 5-day courses. What a way to end the 2013/14 season!
Stentiford Snowboarding will be offering their expertise at the end of March and beginning of April with two splitboard courses. And what a better way to experience splitboarding than with the sport’s very own master.
Aimed at intermediate and expert riders, the Splitboard Freeride course in Chamonix, which will run between 17 – 21 March 2014, provides the chance for those who have never tried splitboarding before to ride the natural pow and start exploring. Riders can then spend the evening at the Val Heliski refuge and at £1375 pp, this once-in-a-lifetime trip is not one to be missed. James said: “We’ll skin up the Grand Motte” but also warned: “expect to hike 1000 metres per day.”
The second of the two courses, the Splitboard Explorer course, will be hitting Chamonix between 7 – 11 April 2014 and gives seasoned splitboard riders a chance to hone their skills and experience all the terrain Backcountry has to offer. This course includes two heli drops with James and a night at the private refuge . The Splitboard Explorer course comes in at £1850 pp.
And as Ed Leigh puts it: “James Stentiford is unquestionably the most skilled and experienced backcountry snowboarder the UK has ever produced. He’s given me powder in Chamonix no matter what the conditions, which should be all you need to know”. So there’s no denying you’ll be in the hands of the UK’s finest.
