It looks like something straight out of the future, and in some ways it is. Using some complicated maths and a whole load of technology, Xavier de le Rue and the Squadrone System have kickstarted and developed the world's first autonomous drone.
Xavier launched a kickstarter campaign and with 28 days still remaining, they have smashed their target of $50,000 and raised over 900% what they aimed for. The numbers speak for themselves really.
It looks mega easy too, so even those technophobes out there have no excuses.
We think the HEXO+ will change the way not only professionals film, but how the every day rider does too. All you need is the drone, the camera and the app and you are ready to rock and roll. It looks mega easy too, so even those technophobes out there have no excuses.
It's got some insane features too - you can pick and choose the angle it films you from so you can mix up your shots and create a few different views. You simply set up how you want it to film, press start and it immediately takes off and finds it's position. As soon as you move, it moves.
Just imagine having your own drone capturing your every move as you pull off a huge powder slash, or a slow backside one.
It's GoPro-orientated and can reach speeds of up to 45mph so even Xavier won't be able to get away from this beast. Fellow pros John Jackson and Ralph Backstrom are both ambassadors as well, so you know this thing must be good.
We reckon this is just the start of what will create a whole new realm of snowboard filming. Just imagine having your own drone capturing your every move as you pull off a huge powder slash, or a slow backside one. Would you buy one?
