Based in Colorado, just outside Vail, but making big moves across the globe, Weston Backcountry do things a little differently. They’re a community driven snowboard brand that focuses on innovation and grassroots projects to give back to snowboarding. Hell yeah.

Who Is The Weston Range For?

Riders who are looking for one board to do it all. The real Goldilocks snowboard- not too soft, not too stiff. Not too park orientated, not too powder focused. You don’t have to be pro-level to rock a Range, but probably best you’re not a complete novice either.

Shape, Profile and Sidecut

Versatility is the name of the game with the Range, enough juice to push it on piste, enough play to razz through the park, and enough sauce to float in the pow. This is where the directional twin outline comes into play. You get the extra oomph in deep snow with the setback stance dropping your weight further over onto the tail, but you’re still able to take off and land switch with the twin shape and lack of taper.

Profile-wise again, versatility reigns supreme. A Camrock profile is quite possibly the most popular on the market right now, and there’s good reason for it. The floaty, playful rockered tips keeping you up and out of the snow, and providing a solid platform for pressing and buttering, with camber running between the feet to keep it feeling lively and giving that dynamic pop.

Construction and Materials

The Slayer wood core packs the punch of poplar with the snappy, lively feel of bamboo, and all without bringing any serious weight to the table. It’s beefed up by carbon rods sitting in the nose and tail, these areas are able to be loaded up with pop for explosive power when you’re boosting lips and hits, with the added bonus of soaking up vibrations when you’re charging though chop and slop.

Reactive triax fibreglass, slick sintered base and rugged UMHW sidewalls keep the Range at the top of its game, as rapid as it is responsive and able to deliver really quality riding all over.
