Heka – the ancient Egyptian God of magic, and also what Vimana’s decided to call their brand-new backcountry line (a lines as magical as old Heka himself). This season we can expect two additions to the Heka line, with one of them being the playful and responsive Astro snowboard.
The Vimana Astro is a high-volume powder board with a camrock profile and a directional shape. This beast of a board has camber in between the bindings and an early rise in the nose. The camber makes for a stable and snappy ride while the rocker in the nose will give you that surfy float you’d come to expect of any rocker shaped board.
“With a soft nose that swallows bumps, you can charge through whatever snow fields you face, whether they’re as smooth as silk or as bumpy as a pregnant camel”
With taper, 50mm setback, short tail and wide nose, you can be sure this badass board will keep you afloat even on the deepest of days. The Astro is a fun surfy board, perfect for tight tree runs and open fields. With a soft nose that swallows bumps, you can charge through whatever snow fields you face, whether they’re as smooth as silk or as bumpy as a pregnant camel.
The Carbon Plus added to the short tail gives the board enough power to hold an edge so charging into massive carves won’t be a problem. You can get as low as the lowest low tide without having to fear that your edge will give up on you.
This board is one to have with you on the days when the weather Gods decide to bless us snow lovers with heaps of powder. If you’re longing for a hardcore creature that will keep you afloat in the deepest of pow-pow while also providing all the fun ingredients you’ll need to charge down the groomers, this thing makes a great plus one. A fine addition to the Vimana line.
