Why we chose the Ride Superpig Snowboard: It’s fun. It’s really, really, fun.

The Superpig is yet another relative of the infamous Warpig, but the Superpig is no dorky cousin – it’s the bodybuilding uncle who rips yellow pages in half at family gatherings.

“The rest of the board is cambered to give you solid edge hold on piste, while the four contact points make the board more stable”

It has the classic Pig shape –  blunt nose and tail reducing swing weight and allowing you to ride a slightly shorter, lighter, board. The flat nose has a pronounced rocker underneath it, to help lift the front of the board out of the snow when you’re riding in powder to make it float better. The rest of the board is cambered to give you solid edge hold on piste, while the four contact points make the board more stable and likely to bite on sketchy ice.

The directional shape gives you more surface area in the nose, keeping your weight over the tail of the board for optimum float in powder and so you can drive with your back leg to get more control on groomers.

Reinforced areas underneath your bindings work to absorb some of the vibrations, reducing the chatter and leaving you with a smoother and more durable ride. Five carbon stringers sit just outside the inserts which transfer your energy more efficiently to the opposite contact point.

Sustainable Aspen wood combined with Paulownia and Bamboo make for a super lightweight core that still retains the strength of a traditional board, and delivers all the snap you could want.

The ‘Slimewalls’ are urethane-based sidewalls, which are awesome for absorbing vibrations, and are mega strong. They’re supported by fiberglass structures which enclose them, adding durability to the whole edge profile while still reducing weight.

The high-end sintered base will keep you ripping and gripping all day long, it holds wax better so you get more performance and speed with less effort. Perfect, no?

It has more tech than you can shake your tail at and, because of this, it’s not ideal for a beginner. It’s a pretty stiff board, that wants to be ridden hard and fast, and so it would be well suited to an intermediate / advanced all mountain ripper.

Tester’s Verdict

Jon Bird LD Mountain Centre

“Ride have taken there much loved Warpig and made it angry with a whole heap of tech. The Superpig has the classic Pig shape – much loved with a more aggressive camber, stiffer flex, and a super fast race base.

“If you like to ride hard and fast, this angry pig is the board for you”

The Superpig is one of those fast and hard boards that expects a bit of aggression from the rider. Carving on the groomers was precise. It provides smooth edge to edge riding at speed and has powerful pop, and controlled locked in landings. The Superpig really ticked the daily drive box for me, with the rocker in the nose providing great float when riding powder.

The Ride Superpig is an all mountain freestyle daily driver aimed at the rider who is looking for the fun pig shape with a bag full of tech. If you like to ride hard and fast, this angry pig is the board for you.”

Trade Secrets

Jonny Russell – UK, Ride Snowboards

“The all new superpig takes a best selling bad ass snowboard and crams Ride’s hi-end tech construction into this absolute machine of a snowboard. Superfast carbon infused race base leaves all others in it’s wake. Ultra-responsive bi radial sidecut matched with carbon array 5 delivers more precision and control, when you are faced with something big and bad this little (super)piggy wont collapse under pressure.”
