The Godfather of the Never Summer Shaper Series – the Swift snowboard. This powder chaser is the inspiration behind Never Summer’s carving line, which was introduced to the world back in 2017.

Embodying the classic Never Summer “Fusion Rocker Camber” profile, this fast charging backcountry beast is a friend you can rely on whether it’s in nipple deep snow or when pursuing the fine art of carving. The medium flex makes this vessel even more versatile, giving you a good responsive ride without making the board too stiff.

With rocker in between the feet and camber outside the feet, you’re looking at a perfect board for pursuing your powder mission. The rocker in between the feet adds float and forgiveness to your ride while the camber gives you pop and stability. Since the camber behind the back foot is slightly longer than the one in the front, this board becomes slightly stiffer in the back – giving you more power for your turns.

The rockered nose makes cruising through powder feel effortless. With a slight taper to it too, it’s easy to stay afloat in the deep while the short tail makes turns in between the narrowest tree lines feel effortless. Despite the Swift first and foremost being a powder board, carving is also a pure slice of pleasure while attached to this stick.

Whether you’re aiming to be the next carving king, mellow Max or powder Pete – the Never Summer Swift has got you covered. Even better, be all three at once.

Tester’s Verdict

Paul WoolProfessor

“I really liked the look of this board, sweet graphics and an intriguing shape. I’ve always been a fan of Never Summer for their great edges and durability, so I was keen to test out their directional powder offering; the Never Summer Swift.

I rode a 157 for a day, experiencing a broad spectrum of terrain from shallow powder, neat groomers and chopped up sludge at the end of the day.

The rocker profile was very apparent in the powder, it floated excellently and was a dream to turn. The large flexy shovel nose has a mellow rocker shape that naturally pushes you to lean back. The small stiffer tail made it effortless to manoeuvre.

“Great piece of kit!”

I am an all-mountain board fanatic, so it is very important to me that a powder board has some use on the rest of the mountain, and I’m please to say the Swift really did the job. It carved extremely well, the rockered middle of this hybrid profile gave way to a poppy camber that dug in really well enabling fast and tight turns. The classic Never Summer edge was present.

The board felt extremely stable and comfortable under foot and I was surprised by its aptitude for speed; feeling really good, without any chatter or wobbles. I forget its rating, but it felt medium to hard stiffness overall.

I didn’t hit the park or do much jibbing on this thing, but why would I with a shape like this. It’s a powder board that feels at home on the piste too. It loves to go fast and get low on carves. Great piece of kit!”
