A new addition to the roster, the Pathfinder is an affordable option for those looking to join CAPiTA’s cosmic crew. The softer flex, blunted shape and easy repair base mark it out as a more park focused deck, great for street rats, jib kids and urban rippers, or for newer riders looking to dip their toes into the world of freestyle.

With two profile options and a super wide range of sizes to choose from, the Pathfinder’s appeal reaches far and wide.

Shape, Profile and Sidecut

So nice they made it twice, the Pathfinder is available in two different profiles, CAPiTA are releasing both a cambered and a rockered version to broaden the appeal. The positive camber is a slightly more aggressive option, better suited to driving through turns and delivering a poppier, more lively feel, whilst the rockered option gives a looser, skate-like ride, ideal for flatland and jibbing.

The differences don’t stop there, the Pathfinder Camber’s 0.5 inch setback feeds into the more resort-based profile, giving addedcontrol through the tail for bigger carves and slashes. And the Pathfinder Rev’s true twin outline is ideal for the more playful, jibby, park rat personality.

Construction and Materials

A simple thing done well is often the best, and CAPiTA have kept it as straightforward as possible with the Pathfinder. The poplar/beech dual-wood core is the OG staple of snowboard design thanks to its solid strength to weight ratio and the economically sound cost. This is sandwiched by softer biax laminates for an easy-going ride that’ll deliver a more forgiving and friendly flex.

The easy repair Superdrive EX base won’t be breaking the land speed record any time soon, but if like us, you’re not quite as regular with your waxjobs as you’d like to be, then it’s a great low-maintenance option. CAPiTA have chosen to go the cheap and cheerful route with the Pathfinder, and you’re right- it’s not the fastest, lightest or strongest board on the market, not by a long shot- but for that price, you really can’t complain.

Roundup

Everything about the Pathfinder is designed to be durable and dependable, a trustworthy companion for boosting confidence and kickers. Thanks to the easy going flex it’s a great shout for riders looking to progress their skills across the mountain or for seasonaires and the like who want a decent snowboard but are prioritising saving those pennies for beer money.
