The Birds Of A Feather nests in CAPiTA’s family tree as the little sister to their flagship all-mountain freestyle board, the D.O.A. It’s no bashful young fledgling though, the Birds Of A Feather has long since burst out of its brothers shadow with its exclusive female geometry and sizing, plus its multi-award-winning performance. Upgraded for this season, and now coming in specific wide options, the Birds Of A Feather is a no-nonsense snowboard for ladies who like to rip.

Who Is The CAPiTA Birds Of A Feather For?

If you’re the kind of rider who spends a little bit of time everywhere, then the adaptable shape, mid flex and progressive performance of the Birds Of A Feather could just be your new go-to. If hunting freshies in the morning, cruising the corduroy after lunch and finishing up with some park laps sounds like your kinda day, then come and join the flock.

Shape, Profile and Sidecut

As a dedicated all-mountain snowboard, the Birds Of A Feather makes a name for itself with its versatility. This is thanks in part to its Resort V1 Profile, which sits as CAPiTA’s most multi-functional option. It combines the playful rockered tips for some extra give in the park, with the powerful camber running through the centre of the board, this best of both worlds approach opens you up to a veritable smorgasbord of all-mountain fun.

The balanced twin shape and flex lend themselves more to playful piste and park riding than deep powder exploration, (though if that is your bag Jess Kimura’s Equalizer would serve you well) but you have the ability to set your bindings right back and shift your weight down the board for a little extra oomph when it’s been spewing.

“The BOAF is built to last, day after day, all season long”

Construction and Materials

For this season CAPiTA have suped up the BOAF with their upgraded Dual Blaster V2 Core, a dual blend of Poplar and Paulownia that combines lightweight elasticity with durable predictability underfoot. It’s new this year, so even if you’ve ridden the Birds Of A Feather before, you’re in a for a treat with this bit of extra pep in your step.

Thanks to the poppy profile and the two Carbon Fibre Boosters running parallel lengthwise down the board, this lil’ birdy is way more eagle than emu. You’re all set for catching some serious hangtime when you’re boosting of lips and hits. The biax fibreglass keeps it quite mellow torsionally, which plays in nicely with the 5/10 flex rating for a cruisy ride, and some nice and easy butter-ability.

Finished off with CAPiTA’s durable Quantum Drive Base and rugged Kevlar wrapped sidewalls, the BOAF is built to last, day after day, all season long.

“A dependable, durable, every day of the season ripper for intermediate and up riders”

Roundup

There are boards on the market, and even in CAPiTA’s line, with more aggressive performance, lighter materials and more top-shelf tech, but for the price we don’t think there’s much to rival CAPiTA’s Birds Of A Feather. A dependable, durable, every day of the season ripper for intermediate and up riders who don’t want to break the bank, but still want something that won’t leave them hanging.
