Bonfire Taggart Pants 2016-2017

Baggy but not ridiculously so, the Bonfire Taggart cargo snowboard pants deliver great style and performance – and while they may share their name with a famous Glasgow detective, the only thing that feels criminal about these is the insanely low price.

The Bonfire Taggart pants are part of Bonfire’s ‘Gold’ collection, which boast above-average waterproofing without leaping up into polar-explorer territory. Anything from that line is a great choice for enthusiastic snowboarders who need something for resort riding, but that can also step up to the occasional venture out of bounds.

“The Taggart works seamlessly with Boa boots thanks to small windows at the front and the side of the gaiters”

It doesn’t matter if you’re an harsh-scorping beginner or a grizzled splitboarder; your knees and backside are the areas that need the most love. That’s why the Taggart targets its insulation there, finished off with a cosy brushed tricot lining. The outer shell is made from tough stuff they call ‘Shadow Weave’; even the most hard-charging seasonaire can expect it to still be in one piece when the lifts finally stop turning.

More and more people use boots featuring dual Boa coilers these days, and the Taggart works seamlessly with these. Thanks to small windows at the front and the side of the gaiters, you can access both coilers without having to expose the whole boot to the elements. If you prefer to wear something with a lace; no worries; the gaiter still works just fine with those, and the windows close up naturally when not in use.

We’re big fans of single-colour pants, and the Taggart is available in four variants: cumin (seen here), blue, red and good ol’ black. The single cargo pocket is ideal for stashing your wallet or board tool, and the fit is bang on. We love the Bonfire Taggart pants, and we reckon you will too.

Trade Secrets

Beau Bishop – Team Rider, Bonfire

The Taggart pant has a nice relaxed fit, not too tight and not too baggy. It’s breathable yet waterproof, has good pockets for necessities and keeps me warm and dry in the backcountry.

A good all around pant for any situation.
