When the bright yellow heads of daffodils start blossoming on the roadside verges, and the warming temperatures begin to spur the growth of new leaves, it is time to ditch the warm winter jacket for a spring hoodie. If the thought of pulling on that beer-stained hoodie from last spring makes your entire face cringe, you might be better off investing in something of better quality – something like, I don’t know, the Yuki Threads Loop Shred Hoodie.
Yuki Threads is doing a good job in creating a more sustainable manufacturing path for other snowboard brands to follow. The Loop Shred Hoodie is made out of 100% organic cotton that’s been sourced from audited farms, while for the rest of the fabric they’ve used 100% recycled PET plastic bottles.

When it’s defined as a riding hoodie, you should expect the product to have certain qualities that differ from an average cotton one. First of all, it should be able to repel water to a certain extent, and by adding a DWR coating, you can expect the Yuki Shred Hoodie to deliver in that area. Yuki Threads have also used a C0 DWR coating, meaning the harmful chemicals C8 and C6 have been eliminated.
There’s also an internal media pocket with headphone access so you can plug in your tunes whilst lapping the park or cruising down the resort. And when things start to get a bit too toasty, the embroidered under breath holes are there to save the day. By adding a lift pass pocket in the arm, the hoodie’s also been made more convenient for accessing the lifts.
Ethically manufactured and part of 1% for the planet, the Yuki Threads Loop Shred Hoodie will do a good job keeping you comfortable throughout the spring sessions to come whilst also making you feel slightly better about your purchasing choice re: saving the planet.
