How exactly does the Rome Riding hoodie differ from a standard hoodie? First of all, the outer shell is made out of a 95% nylon / 5% spandex fabric mix with a cotton-poly blend body – meaning this isn’t your average sweat absorbing cotton hoodie.

By adding a DWR coating to the outer shell, Rome’s making sure that the hoodie itself repels water. This doesn’t, however, mean that the hoodie is waterproof – it simply gives an extra layer of water repellence to it so you won’t be soaking wet after only a few slams in slushy snow (useful in the park).
The 4-way stretch lining has also been made with a waterproof laminate, so for a sunny spring sesh, we’d say the Rome Riding Hoodie is absolutely ideal. However, remember this isn’t something to replace your jacket with in winter. Unless you’ve got some superhuman-like body temperature wizardry going on, that is.
If you’re worried about not being able to stash your cards anywhere safe, there’s a zippered pocket up on the left sleeve. And the big zippered kangaroo pocket at the front works well for either warming your hands or storing your valuables.
