LOBSTER NOSEJOB – WHITELINES REVIEW
We could dance around it all we want, but there’s no use avoiding the main talking point for this board. The Helgasons’ latest design features a customisable shape – like plastic surgery for your tip and tail, you can sculpt the shape of the Nosejob any way you fancy.
As the first deck we’ve seen with customisation built into the design, we’re yet to find out what riders will make of this, but we do like their idea of experimental grab handles and we’re sure we’ll be seeing more creative shapes coming out of the woodwork this season.
At its core, this new board is based on Bataleon’s Jib TBT profile. A super soft ride with a poplar beech core and scorpion-proof turned up edges. The mellow camber through the middle takes the stress out of your presses while leaving your pop intact. On paper it doesn’t look remarkably different in tech to the Lobster Jibboard, but interestingly for a jib board they’ve whacked a sintered base on the Nosejob, better for speed on those short run-ins maybe?
