Zeal Hemisphere 2019-2020 Snowboard Goggles Review

  • Lens: Spherical
  • System: Classic
  • Price: £110

New for 2019/2020 are the Zeal Hemisphere goggles. The spherical lens curves both vertically and horizontally here giving you the ultimate peripheral vision.

Just like with every Zeal goggle going, the Hemisphere comes in three different lens qualities. You’ve got the foundation of all the Zeal lenses, the Optimum, which offers you everything you’d want from an everyday lens. If you’re a bit fussier about what lens you pop into your goggle frame, Zeal’s got a polarized option too, and for the ultimate vision, they offer a photochromic lens. It’s a bit more expensive but it does adjust to the brightness of the weather, so you won’t need to worry about changing your lens when the weather turns from sunny to snowy.

“Not only do these goggles look great, but the permashield hardcoat protects the lenses from unnecessary scratches”

Not only do these goggles look great, but the perma-shield hardcoat protects the lenses from unnecessary scratches. They’ve also got vents at both the top and the bottom of the frame, keeping the lenses from fogging up and providing you a clear ride throughout the day.

The Zeal Hemisphere goggles will keep you comfortable and give you a clear vision whatever the weather decides to be. If a spherical lens is your thing, give these ago.

Tester’s Verdict

James Blogg Ultimate Snowsports

“This is the first pair of Zeal goggles I’ve tried and they impressed. I’ve never used goggles with a light sensitive lens before and was probably a bit skeptical beforehand, but after taking these splitboarding for a few days in a lot of variable conditions they did really well. I found the lens adjusts itself enough to be useful in both flat light and bright sun… maybe not quite as good as a specific lens change but then again it’s so nice to not have to do that!

The straps were comfortable, and after my first thoughts of the foam feeling a little firm, it actually felt fine in the long run. Visibility was adequate but these aren’t particularly big goggles so the frames were visible. I didn’t find it distracting though.

I liked these a lot, and the adaptability of a single lens for all conditions is a big plus for me. Would recommend.”
