The Details:
Nike have kept a toehold in snowboarding through their eyewear division, Nike Vision. It makes sense; a lot of the tech that they continue to develop for sports like cycling, running and golf can find a home in their goggles, and vice versa.
The Nike Khyber goggles first appeared a couple of seasons ago, and are the most traditional-looking of their medium-fit range. They boast a dual spherical lens that has been treated with anti-fog coating, and offers full protection from harmful UV rays.
If you like to wear your goggles over a helmet, the Khyber is fitted with ‘outriggers’ that bear the brunt of the extra size, without affecting the fit of the face foam. As for the ventilation, it’s covered by Durable Water Repellant foam that keeps snow locked out whlist simultaneously allowing warm moisture from your face to escape.
The lens-changing system is quick enough, if not quite in the realm of some of its competitors. However, if you want something that you can be sure will always work no matter what, it may be worth the extra few seconds…
The Nike Khyber comes with two lenses as standard, unless you opt for the ‘Transitions’ lens that adjust automatically to the conditions.
