Electric Egg 2019-2020 Snowboard Goggles Review

Since the turn of the millennium Electric have been churning out top quality eyewear, they now boast a team of some of the world’s best riders and most exciting up and comers. The EGG is a step up from the wildly popular EG2, and it sits slightly closer to the face and has a thinner frame. The EGG was a new addition for last season and didn’t crack under the pressure. It all boiled down to a high quality lens, housed within a snazzy shape, sitting at a great price. It seems other brands were left scrambling to keep up, and we had reports of people trying to poach the design. Ok, all yolks aside, this is a dope goggle.

“A toric lens follows the curvature of your eye for the best optics and gives some of the widest peripheral vision on the market”

The Electric EGG boasts a toric lens, which is a relatively new addition to the snowboard scene, but certainly a welcome one for goggle aficionados. A toric lens follows the curvature of your eye for the best optics and gives some of the widest peripheral vision on the market.

These are a mid-fit goggle and fear not spectacled snow fiends, they are an OTG fit. Electric realise that a google isn’t all about the lens, so they’ve taken pains to ensure you’re going to be as comfy as possible. They use contoured triple layer foam, which is also hypoallergenic and moisture wicking.

These have both Anti-Fog and Anti-Reflective coatings to give you the best visuals possible. You get great width and peripherals, but without the ‘Bug Eye’ look typically associated with it.

Even better, when you purchase a pair of Electric EGG Goggles, you get a voucher to get 50% off any spare lens you want. It’s win-win.

Tester’s Verdict

Stella PenttiWhitelines

“The Electric Egg. Even if the name itself might sound like something created in the aftermath of Chernobyl, we are in fact talking about a pair of goggles here.

“The Egg’s are a good call for someone who wants a simple, clean, cool and comfortable pair of goggles”

Despite the slightly misleading name (it’s not an egg, nor is it really electric), there was absolutely nothing wrong with the goggles themselves. They didn’t make me look like an egg head nor did I feel like these things would crack as easy as an egg (in other words, they’re stylish and durable). They were soft and felt really comfortable on my face. On top of all the comfort, the frame too was just the right size in order for me to grasp everything that was going on around me.

The Egg’s a good call for someone who wants a simple, clean, cool and comfortable pair of goggles.”
