Drop Dyad 2019-2020 Snowboard Goggles Review

  • Lens: Cylindrical
  • System: MAGNETIC
  • Price: $75

Drop have created one of the best value goggles we’ve ever clapped our eyes on. Seriously, the bang for your buck here is insane. They sell direct to consumers to cut out any retailer markup to ensure you’re getting the best quality product for the lowest possible price.

Sitting at just $75, these medium-fit bad boys come with two lenses so you’ve got optimum visuals whether it’s low light or high tide. Orange tint offers VLT 56% for foggy days, and the grey tint just VLT 6%. The lenses are super easily changed with their magnetic frame (with a pull tab for ease of gripping with gloves).

“They’re also dual pane, with an anti-fog coating to keep you seeing further, for longer”

The lenses themselves offer 100% UV protection against the elements so you’re nice and safe. They’re cylindrical in shape, which gets rid of the whole ‘bug eye’ goggle issue and it keeps the cost down. They’re also dual pane, with an anti-fog coating to keep you seeing further, for longer.

As far as extras go, Drop have gone the extra mile when sweetening the deal for the Dyad. You not only get two lenses, you also get a free goggle bag, and a case for that spare lens. It’s like Christmas’ come early. With the cost of winter sports skyrocketing these days, it’s refreshing to come across a piece of kit thats high quality doesn’t reflect its low price tag.

Tester’s Verdict

Stella PenttiWhitelines

“Ok so, basically, these goggles were just handed to me, and I was told to try them on. Slightly reluctantly, as they weren’t Oakley’s or Dragon’s, I put them on and off I went.

“I wouldn’t rate these as high as the latest Oakley’s or Dragon, but they do what’s expected from a decent pair of goggles and they do it well”

The Drop DYAD’s were one of the most pleasant surprises I’ve had in a while when it comes to trying out new gear that you literally don’t expect much from (sorry Drop, no offense, goggles just isn’t the first thing to pop into mind when I hear your name). And later on when I found out the price… what the hell?!

I wouldn’t rate these as high as the latest Oakley’s or Dragon, but they do what’s expected from a decent pair of goggles and they do it well. The goggles didn’t fog up and they were ridiculously comfortable sitting on my face. Anyone who’s looking for a good pair of goggles but isn’t willing to break the bank for the latest tech, the DYAD’s are doing a solid job in protecting your precious eyeballs from wind, snow, and sun.”
